Seed Dreaming with Ants - Ngurlu Nama-kurlu Jukurrpa - Molly Tasman Napurrurla

This Dreaming belongs to the Jakamarra/Jupurrurla and Nakamarra/Napurrurla groups and is associated with Miyamiya, a place to the east of Lajamanu.

The painting depicts a part of the Dreaming in which ants gather seeds from native grasses and carry them back to their nests. These seeds accumulate within and around the nests, where they can then be collected by people as a source of food.

The story reflects the close relationship between people, Country and the natural world, and the knowledge of where and how food can be found across the landscape. Through the painting, this knowledge of Miyamiya and its associated Dreaming continues to be remembered and shared.
