Lucky Morton Kngwarreye’s paintings celebrate the flowering season of Ilyarnayt, the acacia plants that blanket the sandhills of his Country in the Utopia region of Central Australia. As the yellow flowers bloom across the landscape, they signal the presence of Tyape, witchetty grubs that live beneath the roots of the plants and are collected as a valued bush food.
